“View from Highland Light” watercolor painting by David Holt:
This is a convincing depiction of the interior of the light house and the expanse beyond its windows. The intricacy of the lens immediately captures the attention of the viewer. The expert use of light, shadow and reflection leads the eye throughout the details of the painting, outward to the water in the background.
Second Place
“Plowing the Field” sculpture by Michael Savignano:
The artist’s creative use of antique machinery and metal components have resulted in a imaginative and unique sculpture. It provides the viewer a sense of nostalgia and conjures the feel of an era gone by.
