Historic Exposure

Mobile digital devices offer the opportunity for spontaneous photos, an intuitive artistic workflow and a multitude of easily available creative applications.  We invite photographers of all ages to submit their best images for judging in a truly distinctive photography exhibition. The top five awarded images will be exhibited in our galleries located in historic downtown Plymouth, MA, in the heart of Plymouth Bay Cultural District.

General Information

Only images taken with a mobile device (cell phone, tablet or Ipad) are eligible

This is an open competition with an open theme

Photographers of all ages may participate

Maximum entries per artist is 15

Entry fee:  $15 for the first image, $10 for each additional entry

Plymouth Center for the Arts membership is not required

Important Dates

February 1 – 20, 2021 upload images to Smarter Entry

February 21 – 26, 2021 – Judging period, award winners selected

March 3rd – Selected images and Awardees are published no later than 5pm, EST

This is a Juried Show

Based on the judge’s scores, the top scoring 50 images will be chosen for display online

Judge will select no more than one image per artist, and give only one award per artist

Five awards:  First place $100, Second place $75, Third place $50 and two Honorable Mentions

Ribbons and certificates will accompany each award

Art Center Exhibition

The five winning images will be printed, matted and framed for exhibition during PCA’s winter members’ art show from Wednesday, March 3rd through Saturday, April 30th.  Following the show, the framed prints will be packaged and shipped to the artists at the expense of the Plymouth Center for the Arts.

On-line Gallery

The 50 selected images will be exhibited in our on-line gallery at ArtsPlymouth.org.  The on-line exhibition will be viewable on the PCA website beginning March 3rd.
