FOUR CLASSES: Wednesdays June 28, July 12, 19, 26 from 3-6pm (no class July 5th)
Printmaking provides a creative experience where personal style and imagery can be expressed more readily than in some other art processes. Students will be taught basic printmaking skills such as trace drawing, hand transfer and gelatin printing. Creating colors while preparing inks and awareness of texture will be emphasized. After learning these skills, the printing press will be used to create monoprints from inked Plexiglas plates onto paper. A demonstration will be followed by individual attention. Students at all levels of experience are welcome.
Supplies: Roll of paper towels, disposable gloves, old shirt/apron, black medium Sharpie, 2-3 palette knives, and brayers if you have them.
