This class will meet in front of the Russell Gallery under the Canopies.
Let's try to break through the pandemic doldrums by immersing ourselves in the world of flowers.
In this six week session we will focus our attention on drawing and painting plants - one stem at a time - in the age-old-style called Botanical illustration. We will work at being accurate, including all the details we see. We will include the latin name of the plant and the popular name of the plant.
Terry will bring in fresh flowers or leaves. You will sketch and then finish your piece in your own personal style, be it color pencil, pen and ink or watercolor. Terry will also guide you in using calligraphy to add text on your pieces.
Due to COVID regulations, we will not be able to share supplies, so please bring your sketchbooks and pencils and whatever you'd like to create your finished pieces with (ie: watercolor, color pencil, pastel pencils). Terry will bring high quality paper.
Create something to brighten your home or to give as a gift! And always consider entering your final piece in one of our art shows!
Plymouth Center for the Arts is following State/Local & CDC Guidelines, therefore the class is limited to 6 students due to our space. We will hold our class outdoors under the canopies, two students per table. Masks are required.
