IMPRESSIVE IMAGES Introduction to Printmaking
THREE CLASSES: April 26, May 3, May 10
Printmaking provides a creative experience where personal style and imagery can be expressed more readily than in some other art processes. Students will be taught basic printmaking skills such as trace drawing, hand transfer and gelatin printing. Creating colors while preparing inks and awareness of texture will be emphasized. After learning these skills, the printmaking press will then be used to create monoprints from inked Plexiglas plates onto paper. A demonstration will be followed by individual attention and group critique. Students at all levels of experience are welcome.
