Long Exposure Seascapes - Start to Finish

This workshop is designed to teach photographers how to make images of seascapes with that dreamy look of soft streaking clouds and silky smooth water.  Don’t worry if you don’t have special filters, tripod, etc. for this class.  You will be provided with the equipment to use during the class to make these types of images.  All you need is a camera, lens and a desire to learn.

This 3-week workshop will be limited to 3 students.  Week one, we’ll meet virtually on Zoom and learn how to make long exposure images with an explanation and demonstration of the equipment and specific photographic techniques.  Week two, we’ll meet at the Plymouth Art Center and drive to two locations in Plymouth to practice and make actual long exposure seascapes with your own camera.  Finally, on week three, we’ll meet back on Zoom and use Lightroom Classic CC to learn how to post-process long exposure seascape images.

The workshop schedule is as follows:

Session B - July 10th to July 24th

  • Week 1 - Introduction to Long Exposure Photography - Saturday, July 10th, 9:00 am to 10:30 am conducted on Zoom
  • Week 2 - Hands-on Seascape Long Exposure - Saturday, July 17th, 9:00 am to noon, meet at the Plymouth Art Center with your camera (all other equipment will be provided for your use).  We’ll drive together to a couple of spots by the shore in Plymouth to make long exposure seascape images.
  • Week 3 - Processing Long Exposure Seascapes with Lightroom - Saturday, July 24th, 9:00 am to 10:30 am conducted on Zoom.  You will be provided a link prior to the class to upload two of your images you made in week

Each Zoom session will be recorded and provided for your use after the class.  Because we’ll be meeting together on Week 2, all students must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 prior to attending.
