Oil Painting for the Absolute Beginner WORKSHOP
Have you always wanted to try oil painting? This one-day workshop on March 24, 2018* is a great opportunity for the absolute beginner. Through instruction and demonstration, you will explore materials and techniques used in oil painting. It is a fun, no experience, stress free environment that will take you from the initial brush strokes through to a completed painting in one class. Limit 6

Artist Oil Paints: recommended brands = Winsor Newton, Rhembrant, Grumbacker, Utrecht or any other professional oil paints. Winsor Newton’s Winton brand is ok for beginner class. Colors: lemon yellow or cad yellow light, cad yellow med, yellow ochre, cad, orange, cad red light, cad red med, alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue, cerulean blue, viridian, burnt sienna, Titanium white.
Brushes: #4 & #8 flat long bristle brushes – and - A throw-away household 2” bristle brush
Palette 11x14 glass or palette pad
Surface: 5 (8x10 or 11x14) canvas panels or stretched canvases (no larger)
Other: Turpenoid (odorless mineral spirits), palette knives, sketch book and note book, small hand held mirror, box to carry wet paintings, paper towels, cotton rags, baby oil
