About the Artist   Betty Ann Lemist, born in Hyde Park, Boston, MA., is a self-taught painter. She attended three years of scholarship classes at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston Massachusetts, providing her with the basic foundations of art theory and drawing.
For ten years, before relocating, Betty Ann had been an active member in the West Roxbury Art Association, Boston,MA. Her work has been displayed in a one-woman show at Daniel's Gallery in the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, West Roxbury, Ma., five years juried acceptance into the Pembroke Arts Festival, five  years in the Carver Cultural Arts Association, also five years juried into the Plymouth Art Guilds Annual Arts Festival, awarded first place in the painters division in   2007. She has had numerous group showings at local libraries and community centers in and around Boston, MA
Betty Ann has completed many commissioned works, including: murals, portraits of people, pets and houses, wildlife, landscapes and seascapes. She is experienced and practiced in a variety of mediums, but her true love is oils, graphite and  colored pencil.
Having relocated from Boston in 2001 to Carver, Massachusetts she will begin to re-establish herself as artist and teacher in a new area. An exciting future of painting awaits her, as now finally she is living where she has always dreamed of, closer to her beloved Cape Cod.
She is currently a member in good standing in several online galleries, a current moderator at an online artsite for over six years, and enjoying the environment surrounding her in her home in Carver.
