 Ann Lainhart of Plymouth, with her  "Rainbow Card Trick,"  left the bottom corner unfinished  so the viewer could feel the traditional three layers of a quilt.

Moon Tide by  George Mitchell of Brockton , is  a multi-sensory box  inspired by Cape Cod that is scented inside

"Sea Storm"  with rocky shoreline, rough waves, swirling winds and calm, luminous moon, each depicted with a different texture in thick paint.

Marilyn Ferkinhoff of Middletown, RI, with her
 touchable "Crazy Quilt."

treasures of the sea
Norwood artst, Peggy Wheeler's  "Treasures of the Sea" employs fabrics with textures that suggest the objects portrayed: smooth satins for the sky and clouds, coarse linen for the sail, a choppy fabric for the ocean.
The treasure chest is full of giant "jewels."
